    Notes:
    The regimental orderly book of the 2nd Battalion of the 71st Regment of Foot, containing general, brigade, regimental, and battalion orders, including those from the headquarters of Henry Clinton and John Campbell, records of proceedings of court martial, etc.
    Biographical Note:
    The 71st Regiment of Foot (Fraser's Highlanders) was raised in Inverness, Stirling and Glasgow in 1775, in two battalions. The regiment arrived in New York in July 1776, and took part in New York and Philadelphia campaign, before returning to New York in December 1777. In 1778, the regiment was under the command of General John Campbell (d. 1806), commander on Staten Island. It was sent to Savannah in Dec. 1778.
