- This manuscript contains the Sententiae (Sentences) of Peter Lombard (b. c. 1096, d. 1160), a systematic compilation of theological texts, that was extremely popular in the 12th and 13th centuries. The volume also contains the diagram of a tree of consanguinity, illustrating the relationships between family members. Contents: ff. 2r-156v: Peter Lombard: Sententiae , beginning: 'Multi unam substantiam patris et filii predicant'. ff. 157r: A diagram of a tree of consanguinity.[ff. 158v-162v are blank].Decoration:1 large initial in gold and silver, with penwork decoration in green, red, and blue, at the beginning of book 1 (f. 4v). Large initials in blue and/or red with penwork decoration in blue, red, and green, at the beginning of other books (ff. 45v, 83r, 113r). Large initials in red, blue or green, many with penwork decoration in another colour or colours. Small initials in red or blue. Rubrics in red. Added full-page diagram of a tree of consanguinity in brown ink (f. 157r).
