This 14th century codex is one of seven surviving manuscripts that
preserve in its entirety the Eneasroman (Romance of Aeneas) by
Heinrich von Veldeke, one of the most important pioneers of Middle
High German poetry. This work by Veldeke is the first courtly
romance written in Middle High German and is an adaptation of the
Old French Roman d'Eneas, originally written in about 1160.
