- Miniature. Presentation scene. A cleric (translator?) holding a
book kneels before an enthroned emperor (Alexander?). Two male
figures witness the scene (the turbaned man standing behind the
kneeling figure could be Aristotle). Decorated border with dog
pursuing hare among trees, ivy, bords, butterfly. Coat of arms of
Duke of Berry.
A translation of Ps.-Aristotle, Secreta secretorum. Miniature attributed to Jacquemart de Hesdin, who worked as the Duke's court painter until about 1409. Manuscript made for John, Duke of Berry.
