    [168] leaves.
    Note:
    Collation: i¹², ii⁸, iii⁴, iv-xiii⁸, xiv⁷ (of 8, leaf ii wanting), xv-xix⁸, xx⁶.
    Leaf [26] blank but ruled. At least one leaf wanting after [107] with stubs remaining to which two leaves with Crucifixion scenes (at the beginning of the Hours of the Holy Cross) have been glued. The second miniature of the Crucifixion added by previous owner.
    Eighteenth-century brown leather binding, sewn on five raised bands. Upper and lower cover tooled in blind with gilt on spine.
    Batarde script; 1 column of 17 lines.
    Written by several hands in Latin in black ink with ornamental initials in gold, red, and blue; most leaves contain illuminated borders. With thirteen 4-line pink and blue initals on burnished gold grounds with three-quarter illuminated borders on parti-coloured liquid gold ground with birds, acanthus leaves, flowers and foliage.
    With fourteen illuminated miniatures in the style of Maître François, in arched compartments with full borders on parti-coloured liquid gold ground.
    Leaves [162-168] consists of a series of devotional prayers in French rhyming verse.
    The liturgical calendar follows the Paris usage, with special attention given to the feasts of saints peculiar to that region (e.g. Sts Genevieve, Louis, Denis).
    Binding error in calendar: May bound after June and July bound after August.
    The 'Obsecro te' is intended here for use by a male. Cf. leaf [21v].
