Description
A Venetian illuminated codex of sea-charts. Charts substantially
copied from a work of c. 1320, probably from a codex of charts by
Petrus Vesconte of Genoa, at that time resident in Venice. Nine
vellum pieces pasted onto boards and into wooden covers; each piece
is, width by height, 280 x 290 mm. South is at the head of each
chart. The first and last openings are each a diptych of devotional
miniatures.
