Eighteenth-century[?] calf-skin over boards; triple-filleted gilt borders with gilt-stamped flowers at corners; elaborate gilt tooling on spine; spine in six compartments; red spine label with gilt direct-lettering: Sonetti / del / Petrarca; marbled endpapers;gilt edges.

Note(s):
The second edition of the Daniello commentary has an engraved titlepage modelled upon Giolito's, containing portraits of Petrarch and Laura copied from Giolito's urn.
The brief preface by Giovanbattista Pederzano is followed by a life of the poet.
Colophon reads: In Vinegia per Pietro et Gioanmaria fratelli de Nicolini da Sabio; ad instanza di m. Gioambattista Pederzano, libraro al segno della Torre, appresso il ponte di Rialto, et compagni.
Petrarch's poems in italic type and commentary in roman type; no printed numbering; most of Petrarch's texts set on left in small block, with commentary distributed across the page.
