    Exposed boards with contemporary[?] parchment spine; sewing supports visible in front and rear hinges; gilt-stamped spine; label with decorated borders: Il / Petrar.


    Acquisition:

    Donated to the The University of Manchester by Hélène Louise Bullock, widow of Walter L. Bullock, Serena Professor of Italian, in 1944.

    Petrarch’s poems in roman type and commentary in italic type; printed numbering; most of Petrarch’s poems set on left in small block, with commentary distributed on three sides; some other of Petrarch’s poems set on left in a sequence of blocks, with commentary distributed in single column on right.
