Album studiosorum peregrinorum philosophiae, 1599-1837
Description
List of foreign students registered between 1599 and 1837 at the
theological faculty in Basel for basic (undergraduate) studies in
artes liberales as a preliminary stage for graduate study in
theology, law or medicine. The list ist divided by deans; from
1665-1800 it also gives the names of the “Corregens” of the
Alumneum, the residence hall of scholarship holders. In addition,
the volume contains regulations concerning admission to the faculty
and the text of the oath upon matriculation.
