Abstract:
'Leges Anglorum Londoniis collectae', produced in the early 13th century at the Guildhall Library, London. The earliest of the six surviving medieval manuscripts of the 'Leges Henrici Primi'. Within the London group it is most closely related to British Library Cotton Claud. D II (c. 1310) but, according to L. J. Downer, it has a special relationship with the leading manuscript of the other main group (in the Red Book of the Exchequer, c. 1225). This manuscript is used by him as one of the three primary sources for his edition of the text of the Leges.

Parchment.

Purchased for the Rylands Library on 24th November 1908 from Bernard Quaritch Ltd., booksellers for £225, its Library Accession Number being R 16980.
