    [8], 160, [44] leaves, ill., map, 23 cm. (4to) Leaf height: 204 mm, width: 143 mm.
    Binding:

    Eighteenth-century full tan calf; gilt-tooled border roll; smooth spine, with gilt fillets forming false bands; gilt-tooled fleuron within compartments; marbled end-papers; all edges yellow.

    Part of the Lloyd Roberts collection, bequeathed to the John Rylands Library by David Lloyd Roberts in 1920

    Petrarch’s poems and commentary in italic type; printed numbering; most of Petrarch’s poems set on left in small block, with commentary distributed on three sides; some other poems by Petrarch set on left in a sequence of blocks, with commentary distributed in single column on right.
