Description
This antiphonary was written by order of Abbot Johannes I of
Schwanden for the liturgy of the Hours of the monastic community of
Einsiedeln. Together with Cod. 611-613, this manuscript attests to
the introduction of Guido of Arezzo’s (Guido Monaco’s) system
of musical notes with square notation.
