Description
  • Text: Office of the Dead. Miniature. Burial in a church. Numerous mourners with tapers gathered in a church as four clerics carry a bier covered with blue pall. A man in torn clothes is digging a hole. Hanging cloth at the back, nave of church with aisles. Decorated initial 'D(ilexi)' with ivy. Decorated border with flowers, strawberries and acanthus. In lower margin, gold putto mounted on hybrid and hare, wattle fence in foreground.
    Miniatures attributed to the school of the Master of Jouvenel des Oursins.
