Autograph letter, signed, describing French naval operations and
activities of British forces. The letter is written in numerical
code. Three lines of conclusion, in French, and La Luzerne's
signature, are on the sixth page. The seventh and eighth pages are
blank. The letter is dated "A Philadelphie, le 16 Janvier 1781" at
the top of the first page, and is addressed to Destouches on the
