  • Extent: AA⁸ BB⁴ a–h⁸ i⁶ k l⁸ m n⁶ o–r ꝛ⁸ ſ⁶ s–y⁸ z¹⁰ aa–gg⁸ hh⁶ ii⁸ kk ll⁶. Leaf a1 signed Ai. 266 × 195 × 42 mm (size of leaf 258 × 180 mm).
    Decoration: Woodcuts coloured. Initials are supplied in red with reserved white decoration. Paragraph marks, punctuation (dots and diagonal strokes), and capital strokes in red. The first woodcut cut out and pasted on a separate leaf.
    Binding: Eighteenth-century French gold-tooled red morocco; gilt-edged leaves; marbled pastedowns.
    Provenance: Paul Girardot de Préfond (†after c.1800); ‘G. D. P.' in pencil on the verso of the front endleaf. Francis Douce (1757-1834); armorial book-plate. Bequeathed in 1834.
