Description

Chart of the World on Mercator's "constant bearing" projection. On two sheets joined, World map with three cartouches: top left with motto, 'Dieu et mon droit', the other two with inscription.
Published by R. Hakluyt. Sometimes found in the second volume of Hakluyt's Principal Navigations… Wright was the first to perfect the mathematics of the projection. Two sheets joined.
