Physical Description:
Reliure de maroquin rouge aux armes royales (XVIIIe s.).
Estampilles de la Bibliothèque royale (Ancien régime, avant 1735), modèle identique à Josserand-Bruno, p. 268, type B n° 4.Custodial History:
Ce ms. est constitué de nombreux fragments d'époques et de provenances diverses. Une table dressée par La Porte du Theil se trouve sur l'une des feuilles de garde: « index tractatum ... ». Certains proviennent de Jacques De Thou et portent, noté au centre de la marge inférieure, un numéro en chiffre romain : il s'agit des mss. dont les numéros d'inventaire sont [159 (§ 7) ; 616 (§ 3. 7-9); 749 (§ 2-4); 775 (§ 1); 760 (§1) ]. Le fragment 749 (§ 2) a appartenu à Pierre Daniel d'Orléans (1530/1540 - 1603), dont le nom apparaît au f. 159 (voir la notice du ms. latin 7929). Ces fragments de mss. ont été achetés par Jean-Baptiste Colbert avec les autres mss. de Thou, en 1680. Ils ont été démembrés puis reliés suivant l'ordre que nous leur connaissons maintenant par Etienne Baluze qui a noté les titres dans la marge supérieure. Ils ont ensuite été acquis par la Bibliothèque du roi en 1732 avec les mss. de Colbert.
