Description
  • Initial C.
Humanistic script by scribe who signed other manuscripts: 'Nicolaus'.The scribe may be identifiable as the 'Nicholaus' who signed MS. Vatican Reg. Lat. 142 in 1425. The vine-stem initial with the background predominently in dark blue and tiny patches of olive green and mauve is very close in style to those in B. L, MS. Harley 5285, Plautus, dated 1415, and two manuscripts in Florence, Laur. 50, 18 copied in 1423 and 54, 30 copied in 1425.
