    Part 1 contains: Dutch translation of Sermons (winter part) / Bernard of Clairvaux.
    Part 2 contains: So-called 'first' Dutch translation of the Verba seniorum (Vitae patrum, books 5-6) by the bible translator of 1360 (Petrus Naghel). - Also contains exempla on ff. 45r-49r.
    Note:
    Date (part 1): Based on colophon: (f. 167v) "Int jaer ons heren doenmen screef xiiiic ende Ixxxiii opten xvi-den dach van October soe wert dit boec volscreven dwelc heet dat ierste deel van sinte bernaerts sermonen Ter eeren gods ende sijnre ghebenedider moeder".
    Script: Both parts probably written by the same scribe.
    Binding: Medieval binding, contemporary (Haarlem). - Leather (brown, blind-tooled) on wooden boards. Two clasp fastenings (closing back to front, one strap and hook missing). - Codex bound in Haarlem (based on the stamps).
    Textual: The bible translator of 1360 (Peter Naghel) translated a Latin text (the original was in Greek) known as Historia monachorum in Aegypto, that was itself a translation/adaptation by Rufinus of Aquileia
