    Orderly book of William Coit's command covers the period from Apr. 23 to Aug. 7, 1775. No entries were made for the period between April 26 and June 1.
    Biographical Note:
    The 6th Connecticut Regiment was one of six regiments created by the Connecticut legislature on May 1, 1775. On June 14, it was taken into the Continental army. William Coit (1742-1802) organized and drilled a company at New London early in 1775; the company was later incorporated in the 6th Connecticut as the Fourth Company.
