Commencement : جمل ما فى المقالة الاولى من كتاب بَطْلَمْيُوس الفْلُوذى المنسوب الى التعاليم و هو الكتاب الكبير المعروف بالمَجسْطى ترجمه من اللسان اليونانى الى اللسان العربى لابى الصقر اسماعيل بن بلبل اسحق بن حنين بن اسحق المتطبّب و صحّحه ثابت بن قرّة الحرّانى « Contenu de la première section du livre de Ptolémée al-Feloûdsî, surnommé le Mathématicien. C'est le grand ouvrage appelé l'Almageste. Traduit du grec en arabe pour Abou ʾṣ-Ṣaqr Ismâʿîl ibn Boulboul, par le médecin Isḥâq ibn Ḥonaïn ibn Isḥâq, et corrigé par Thâbit ibn Qorra al-Ḥarrânî ». Suit la liste des chapitres. On sait que les premiers traducteurs arabes ont transcrit sous la forme القلودى le prénom Claudius, mot que les copistes ont changé en الفلوذى Abou ʾṣ-Ṣaqr, vizir d'Al-Mowaffaq, frère du calife Al-Moʿtamid, a été mis à mort en 278 ou 279 de l'hégire (891 de J. C.). Ce volume renferme les six premières sections de l'ouvrage.
