Painted vellum. German, early 18th century. Vellum, tooled and
painted; depicting the Ten Commandments on the front cover, the
Crucifixion on the back cover, in shaped frame. While indicating
the pious purposes of this devotional volume, the style of
decoration suggests this is a piece of German folk-art.
