    Binding:

    Eighteenth-century [?] marbled calf-skin with marbled paper insert, blind-tooled at edges; spine blind-tooled in six compartments, gilt-tooled spine label in second: Petrarcha / Fausto da Longiano; gilt-tooled spine label in fifth: 1532; end-papers printed with floral pattern.


    Acquisition:

    Donated to the The University of Manchester by Hélène Louise Bullock, widow of Walter L. Bullock, Serena Professor of Italian, in 1944.

    Eighteenth-century [?] Italian MS note containing details of other commentaries of Petrarch and bibliographical reference of other works of Fausto da Longiano on sig. a1v; Italian MS notes on FF8r-FF8v, GG2r and NN7r; Italian manuscript note by a later hand containing information about Fausto da Longiano’s only edition of Petrarch on verso of the last free endpaper.

    Sigs. NNii & NNvi, numbered 296 & 300, are wrongly bound behind sigs. NNiii & NNvii respectively.
