- Description
-
- Summary:
Manuscript 133 contains commentaries by bishop Gilbert de la Porrée (1080-1154) on various texts by Boethius (c. 480 - 524). It also includes the text by Boethius de fide Christiana and de unitate et uno. The manuscript was gifted to Ten Duinen Abbey by the son of magister Egidius Corenman. Gilbert de la Porée gives commentary on the following texts: de Trinitate, de Praedicatione, de Hebdomadibus and contra Eutychen et Nestorium. The manuscript dates back to the twelfth century. The manuscript contains two decorated initials and a historiated initial. The historiated initial can be found on Folio 3: an initial I is painted in blue and green, silver and gold and some red. Boethius is standing in the shaft of the initial I, holding a book. The initial on Folio 1 is made up of two lizard-like animals. They are holding onto each other's tails, symbolizing infinity.
