  • This manuscript contains the computistical treatise known as De computo (On the Computus) by Helperic of Auxerre (fl. c. 900), one of the most popular textbooks on computus of the Middle Ages. The manuscript also contains several astrononical tracts, including the poems De duodecim mensibus (On the Twelve Months), Hymnus de anno et mensibus (A Hymn on the Year and Months) by Bede the Venerable (b. 672, d. 735) and Versus de sideribus (A poem about the Stars) by the Latin grammarian Priscian (fl. 500). It also includes astronomical tables, diagrams and rotae . Contents: ff. 2r-13v: Helperic of Auxerre, De computo , beginning: Domino patri sanctissimo homine quidem Aspro'. ff. 14r-19r: An astronomical tract, beginning: 'apud Grecos ab ornatu appelatur '... quedam alia de ratione compoti', preceded by 'Incipiunt quedam alia de ratione compoti'.ff. 20v-21v: A versified astronomical tract, beginning: 'Ritmus cuiusdam sapientis calculi anni vertentis'. ff. 21v-22v: Bede, De duodecim mensibus followed by Hymnus de anno et mensibus , beginning: 'Marcius Octobris maius quoque Iulius'. ff. 22v-25v: Priscian, Versus de sideribus , beginning: 'Ad boreae partes arethi vertuntur'. ff. 26r-49v: Computistical tables and diagrams with explanations on how to use them, beginning: ‘Hic figura ut videtur michi potius’ (f. 26v).ff. 50r-65v: An astronomical tract containing a description of constellations and stars, imperfect at the beginning and the end, beginning: ‘postea in sollemnibus etiam religiosis sacrificiis’.Decoration:Several large initials in outline drawing in brown ink, some with zoomorphic and anthropomorphic motifs. Tables, diagrams and rotae in red, green and brown ink. Capitals in brown with red highlighting.
