Description
  • College Register. Begun by William Bethome (Fellow 1474-9, Bursar 1476; Rector 1488 - 1493) to keep copies of charters, deeds and other valuable administrative records together. Contains a Library catalogue from 1474. It may have been originally constructed of three quires of royal paper left in the gatehouse tower in which might be written the names of benefactors, fellows etc., left to the College in the will of John Shryrburn, Fellow prior to 1450, died 1452 (see will proved 1 Oct 1452, Registrum Cancellarii Oxon I, folio 113).
