In de broncodex (BnF ms. fr. 1048) staat op f. 4v een afdruk van het verloren gegane wapenschild van Lodewijk van Gruuthuse (zie Hans-Collas, Manuscrits enluminés, p. 144-145). Voor BnF ms. fr. 1048 is gedocumenteerd dat het, samen met andere Gruuthusehandschriften, rond 1500 eigendom werd van koning Lodewijk XII van Frankrijk, vermoedelijk als gift van Jan V van Gruuthuse, de zoon van Lodewijk van Gruuthuse (zie Hans-Collas, Manuscrits enluminés, p. 145). Notitie 'Bloys' op een schutblad in BnF ms. fr. 1048 verwijst naar de koninklijke bibliotheek in het Kasteel van Blois; in de inventarissen van Blois van 1518 (n. 249) en 1544 (n. 510). Vermoedelijk werden de miniaturen uit het manuscript verwijderd in Blois (zie Bolton, The Roger Martin Collection, p. 110). Mogelijk te koop aangeboden in een veilingscatalogus van Philip C. Summary:
Leaf from an illuminated manuscript owned by Louis of Bruges, and
two French kings, Louis XII and François I. The leaf contains a
fragment from an anonymous French translation of the Legenda Maior,
the biography of Catharine of Sienna (1347-1380) by her confessor,
Raymund of Capua (1330 - 1399). The leaf contains one miniature,
depicting the mystic marriage of Catherine with Christ. The
miniature was painted by the Master of Margaret of York (or a
member from his workshop), who produced some fifteen manuscripts
for Louis of Bruges (S. McKendrick and T. Kren, Illuminating the
Renaissance, 2003, p. 217-18). The leaf is taken from Paris, BnF,
ms. fr. 1048. Title:

Library, Mss. 47094; een derde wordt in een Europese
privécollectie bewaard
