Contains: (ff. 1r-64v) Chronica pontificum et imperatorum / Martin
of Troppau. Incomplete (breaks off in the life of pope Martinus IV
(1281-1285), due to missing leaves. Note:
Binding: Post-medieval binding.
Textual: After a prologue and overview of used sources (1ra-b), the
chronicle starts with an account of Roman history (2rb-10rb/24).
The history of popes starts at f. 10rb/25 (inc. "Anno LXII
octaviani augusti natus est jhesus christus ...") and continues on
the versos starting from 10v onwards. The history of emperors
starts at f. 11r (inc. "Post nativitatem domini nostri jhesu christ
octavianus augustus imperavit annis XIIII ...") and continues on
the rectos. Every page has a catchword in the lower margin to guide
the reading from one verso (or recto) to the next. Martin of
Troppau designed this lay out to present the history of
ecclesiastical and worldly rulers simultaneously.
