through June 27, 1779. Also included are two orders to General
Department issued at Charleston on Aug. 3 and Aug. 7, 1779. Ff.
76-112 are blank. Biographical Note:
Benjamin Lincoln was appointed to head the Southern Department of
the Continental Army in Sept. 25, 1778, and headed operations on
