On the Regimen of Health (Fī tadbīr al-ṣiḥḥah) was written
in 1198 CE for Nūr al-Dīn ’Alī, the eldest son of Saladin. It
consists of four sections. The first contains a general ‘regimen
of health’ to be followed by everyone, the second a general
regimen for circumstances in which no doctor, or only an inadequate
one, is available. The third section contains a regimen designed
specifically for Nūr al-Dīn ’Alī, and the fourth consists of
useful general advice.
