Description
  • Physical Description:
    1 leaf vellum ; 54 cm.

    Summary:
A single leaf containing the beginning of the hymn "Duo chori modulantes sint sonori nuntiantes verba sapientiae", rubricated as the sequence hymn for mass for the feast of the Conversion of St. Paul (r-v).

    Notes:
The initial letter "D" is historiated, with St. Paul holding book and sword. There is a foliate part-border, in which is the figure of a Dominican nun praying.
The initial and border are drawn in tempera with gold leaf. These have been attributed to Pacino di Bonaguida: see Palladino.
The text is written in a large gothic rotunda hand, in black with red rubrics, with music on a red 4-line staff. There are 2 initial letters on the verso in red and blue with pen-work decoration.
