- Description
-
Summary: Written in several hands of the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, CCCC MS 323 begins with extracts adapted from the Legenda aurea by Iacobus de Voragine OP (d. 1298), including the lives of Pilate and Judas Iscariot. Then follows an anonymous treatise on the liturgical offices, including an exposition on the Mass. The final text is a commentary on the seven penitential psalms attributed to Pope Innocent III ( 1160/61-1216), ending imperfectly. There seems to be no thematic unity between the three parts of the book.
