Textual: 'Umschreibung' in Low German (Westfälisch) of Der
Vaderboec, a Dutch translation of the Historia monachorum in
Aegypto, which is part of the Vitae Patrum (or Vitas Patrum), a
collection of the vita of hermits. - (f. 1r) Incipit: "Eyn broder
vragede eynen olden vader unde seghede: Vader was sal ick doen
wente myne gedancken en latet my nicht eyne ure lanck yn myner
cellen sytten ...". The Giessen fragments also contain (a.o.)
exempla from Der Vaderboec.
