This leaf contains a warning against false coins coming from the Netherlands. The illustrations show how the fake coinage could be recognized. Single sheets printed on one side only, were often intended as posters and are generally very rare: small pieces of paper tend to get lost more easily than big books. While less spectacular than illuminated books in fine bindings, these small sheets tell us important things about the social history of the fifteenth century and about new functions of literacy.
