Description
  • Summary:
Manuscript 113, from the second half of the twelfth century, contains a copy of the treatise De Trinitate by Augustine of Hippo (354 - 430). It was a part of the Ten Duinen library. A striking feature of this manuscript is its original twelfth century Cistercian binding. The manuscript is richly decorated. The beginning of each book is marked with a multi-coloured ornamental initial. Each book contains an initial that is decorated with stylized flower patterns combined with geometric patterns. Some of the rubric titles are highlighted or raised with silver. [Summary by Sarah Vanroye]
