Content:
Incomplete (based on medieval foliation). Originally only paintings
of the herbs with their names. The extensive descriptions (mostly
in German and some in Latin and Czech) were added in the 17th
century. Note:
Origin: Based on the choice of the herbs (indigenous for the region
of Bohemia and the southern German regions) and the languages of
the comments.
Date: ca. 1460-1470 based on the watermarks, but the ms. as a whole
indicates a later date.
Layout: Illustrations and descriptions are on the recto's, the
verso's are mostly empty.
Binding: Post-medieval binding. - Rebound (1988): leather over
cardboard; bookblock sewn on five supports; closing ties (2x2,
leather).
