    Note:
    3 leaves (ff. 80-82) were moved from VLF 86 in 1860.
    Script: Written by various scribes (four?) whose parts are difficult to discern.
    Binding: Post-medieval binding. - Rebound using medieval techniques (1986): full leather over wooden boards; bookblock sewn on five supports; two eye-and-pin fastenings (closing on back board edge).
    Origin and date: "Wohl nördliches Frankreich, IX. Jh., Mitte", according to Bischoff 2004. Gumbert 1996 suggests: second quarter 9th century.
    Textual: (ff. 1r-36v) Incomplete. Text of book 2 is slightly mixed up. - (ff. 66v-71r) Translation and adaptation of Plato's Timaeus by Cicero. Text in disorder. - (ff. 77r-83v) Without beginning. Incipit: "non potui igitur..." - (ff. 88r-104v) Second part of the Academica priora, of which the first part is now lost. A later redaction (but from Cicero's age) of the same work is called the Academica posteriora.
