  • Summary:
    Manuscript 6, dating from c. 1265-70, contains part four of the Bible of Ter Doest Abbey. Part one and three are contained in GS MS. 4/1 and MS. 5/191. The text was copied by a lay called brother Henricus, active at Ter Doest Abbey. The manuscript contains the following texts: Esdras, Nehemiah, Esther, Tobit, Judith, Maccabees, a letter by Jerome (348 - 420) on the Gospels to Pope Damasus, a letter by Eusebius (c. 260 - c. 340) to Carpianus, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John with a prologue by Jerome, Acts of the Apostles, a letter by Jerome to Bishop Paulinus, a fragment from De viris illustribus on James, Epistle of James, First Epistle of Peter with a prologue by Jerome, Second Epistle of Peter, Epistles of John (1-3), a fragment from De viris illustribus on Judas, Epistle of Judas, Book of Revelation, Prologue by Jerome on 14 letters by Paul, and the Pauline epistles.
