Extent:
[22] leaves. Note:
Manuscript on vellum, apparently in an 11th cent. Byzantine hand
(date and place are uncertain; the codicological evidence seems to
point to a North African origin). Quires of four sheets; prickings
and rulings in evidence. Written by two scribes. Includes marginal
and interlinear notes in another hand.
Text begins on leaf 2b (le-altar shemaʻ mina) of the standard ed.
and continues until 47b (includes Mishnah of chap. 4, Ba-meh
tomnin).
First quire has only three sheets, which indicates that the first
and last leaves are missing (i.e. gap at front and between leaves 6
and 7). This quire can be completed by one leaf from the Antonin
collection in St. Petersburg. See A. Katsh, Ginze Talmud Bavli,
plates 20-21. Leaves 2,3,4 mutilated with some loss of text. Subject:
