This richly illustrated “Historienbibel” (history Bible) from
the workshop of Diebold Lauber belongs to edition IIa of the text
(following Vollmer). For the Old Testament, it contains a prose
version of the Weltchronik by Rudolf von Ems; for the New
Testament, it contains a prose version of the Marienleben by Bruder
Philipp. The cycle of illustrations, richer in comparison to
sister-manuscripts, can be attributed to the illuminators of Group
A, active in the Lauber workshop during the 1430s.
