    Decoration: Woodcut on A1r showing a teacher sitting on a high-backed chair and holding a switch of birch twigs in his right hand, with three pupils sitting in front of him on a bench, each reading from a book; see Hodnett no. 919; The state of the woodcut and the device is earlier than in Sulpitius, 4 Dec. 1499; Correction to the text in red ink on B1r; pointing hands in pencil on B3v –B4r.
    Binding: Nineteenth/twentieth-century calf.
    Provenance: Smyth (sixteenth century); inscription on A1r: ‘Smyth. pretii vi d’. Acquired before 1898: seen by Proctor. Former Bodleian shelfmark: Auct. QQ sup. 2.19.
