Abstract:
Der teilvergoldete Silbereinband mit flach geschnittenen Reliefs und transluziden Emails ist in der zweiten Hälfte des 14. Jahrhunderts in Italien entstanden. Er wurde wohl für eine Tochter aus der mailändischen Familie der Visconti anlässlich ihrer Hochzeit mit einem bayerischen Herzog hergestellt. Vorderdeckel und Rückdeckel sind einheitlich gestaltet, und ihre figürlichen Darstellungen waren ursprünglich komplett mit Emails überzogen. // Autor: Caroline Smout // Datum: 2017
