- Summary:
Manuscript 395 is a composite manuscript which contains a martyrology and the Rule of Saint Benedict. The martyrology is dated in c. 1160-1181.The Rule of Saint Benedict is dated in c. (1330-1370).The manuscript was a liturgical book in Ter Doest Abbey, used for chapter readings. The martyrology contains a list of names and short biographies of martyrs and other saints, following the calendar. The manuscript contains two ornamental initials in blue, green and red and decorated with stylized foliage (Folio 19v and Folio 111v). Folio 111v contains the initial for the Latin Rule of Saint Benedict. [Summary by Sarah Vanroye]
