Contains four versions of the Psalter written in parallel columns.
The two columns on the versos contain the Hebrew text and the Latin
'Hebraica' version of St. Jerome; the two columns on the rectos
contain the Greek text and the Latin 'Gallicana' version. Note:
BPG 49 A is the earliest of the rare trilingual Psalters, according
to Olszowy-Schlanger & (2008). Written in three scripts.
Origin and date: Based on characteristics of the Latin script and
illuminated initials; cf. Olszowy-Schlanger & 2008, p. 106.
Collation: 37 quires: IV-1 (1-7) + 27IV (8-223) + V (224-233) + 8IV
(234-297). The second leaf in quire 1, originally a quaternio, is
missing (between ff. 1 and 2); its counterpart (the seventh leaf)
was placed behind the eighth leaf (6-7). The present order of
quires 15-21 (between ff. 111 and 168) was originally 21, 20, 19,
18, 17, 16, 15. Correct reading order: ff. 1-5, 7, 6, 8-111,
160-167, 152-159, 144-151, 136-143, 128-135, 120-127, 112-119,
168-297.
Binding: Post-medieval binding (18th century).- Leather (red
gold-tooled).
