- Start of text. Decorated initial 'C' enclosing six -point star made
of two interlocking triangles in purple and blue on gold ground.
Bird with human head in centre of star. Decorated border in rose
blue and gold, extending from the initial and ending in floral
spray. In upper right corner, border design extends into ivy sprigs
and fantastic long-eared animal. Two small penwork initials in red
and blue.
On fol. 214, 'Ego Germanus Swerd de Wakesend finivi istud opusculum 1296', presumably copied from the archetype.
