- Description
-
- Somma di arithmetica, geometria, proporzioni e proporzionalita', et
al. (Venice: Paganinus de Paganinis, 10-20 Nov. 14[9]4)
The author, Lucas (Luca Pacioli, c.1445-1517), taught arithmetic and geometry at several Italian universities. His 'Somma di arithmetica' was the first printed work in which finger symbolism of numbers was illustrated. It also discussed double entry bookkeeping, and Pacioli’s accounting methodology is applicable today, as are his comments on how to succeed in business.
