Johan van Aswilre, canon at Cologne. - (f. 6v) Table for
bloodletting. - (ff. 7r-12v) Birgittine calendar, use of Liège. -
(ff. 14r-116v) Psalter. - (ff. 117r-228v) Breviary - Empty: f.
I-III, 1, 3r, 4v, 5, 6r, 13, 229 and the 2 following leaves. - With
Latin and some Dutch rubrics . - Also contains psalm numbers and
comments on the liturgical use added in a later hand (18th
century?). Note:
Origin: Based on the style of decoration and content. - Probably
made in Marienwater/Koudewater in Rosmalen (near 's-Hertogenbosch),
where it was kept in the 17th century, according to a note on f.
141v.
Binding: Medieval binding, not contemporary (15th/16th century). -
Leather (brown, blind-tooled) over wooden boards with bevelled
edges. Decorated with loose stamps; Birgittine (five-pointed) star
in the four corners on both sides; Two clasp fastenings (closing
back to front, straps and hooks lost). Fixed page markers (tabs) on
bookblock fore edge. - Spine renewed, with old covering pasted on
top.
