The letters largely concern Elizabeth's running of the household
and supervising building work during her husband's absences at the
Inns of Court in London. Timothy Wagstaffe was lord of the manor of
Tachbrook near Warwick. Elizabeth was the daughter of the Puritan
lawyer and politician Nicholas Fuller, a critic of the government
of James I. All of the letters are written from Warwick, with the
exception of (fols. 38-39), which was written from the
'Chamberhowse' and mentions social events in the Newbury and
Thatcham area in Berkshire, Nov. 1616.
