    Note:
The Leiden Sophocles palimpsest and the Florentine codex Laurentianus 32.9 are the earliest surviving medieval exemplars of the plays by Sophocles known today. Transcriptions by Scheltema (1949) are kept under shelfmark BPG 60 A II. Not all the leaves of the original Sophocles codex have been prepared for the writing of the new texts (e.g. leaves missing between ff. 146 and 147), and several of them are written in the wrong order (ff. 44, 45, 49-56, 90, 95, 97, 100, 103, 106, 147).
    Collation: (part 2) 12IV (1-96) + V (97-106) + 5IV (107-146) + 1 (147).
Binding: Post-medieval. - Each quire sewn in parchment wrapper (1990). Together kept in a new loose binding (leather spine and wooden boards); closing ties (2x2, leather).
    Also described by Pinakes.
Textual part 2: (ff. 1r-119r) edited in Patrologia Graeca, volume 89, 36A-309. - (f. 119v-141r) edited in Patrologia Graeca, volume 87 III, 3148-3200C.
