An album of 33 calligraphic specimens and 34 paintings, labelled
(in many cases incorrectly) by Sir Gore Ouseley as portraits of the
Mughal emperors. Many of the borders are 19th-century coloured
paper pasted to the pages. With a manuscript introduction naming
the supposed subjects of the portraits, by Sir Gore Ouseley
(undated), and two European lithographs. Created in India,
17th-18th centuries.

Binding: lacquer binding with gilt arabesques and flowers on green
background; inner covers red leather with gilt arabesques and
flower border.
